Recent releases, newest first.

Capture & Timeline Reliability — dependable recording fixes

2026-08-13
  • The macOS sharing state now ends after recordings, preflight-only checks, setup cancellations, and startup failures.
  • Recordings survive Presenter Overlay format changes and fall back cleanly when HEVC with alpha is unavailable.
  • Caption and annotation pills can be lengthened or shortened by dragging their timeline edges, with larger grab areas and resize cursors.
  • Failed captures show their recorded recovery reason, while direct builds keep StoreKit out and expose the full theme catalog.
  • Theme ordering, recording-control sizing and spacing, and the README logo path are consistent again.
  • Deleting caption or annotation tracks no longer crashes the editor, and the reveal action uses a supported macOS symbol.

Theme-aware Controls — focused recording polish

2026-08-12
  • The floating recording bar now adopts the active theme's colors and animated artwork, with clearer idle and live control trays.
  • Onboarding permission steps share one consistent Continue action without changing the guidance or system permission flow.
  • Direct-download builds include every bundled theme, contain no StoreKit purchase code or product identifiers, and fail packaging if that boundary regresses.
  • Documentation now matches the current recording, editing, export, CLI, and distribution workflows; obsolete assets are gone.

Library & Themes — find it, frame it, trust it

2026-08-08
  • Five original themes arrive with matching project-local wallpapers. Banana Noir and Hokusai are included; Pop Banana, Utamaro, and Hiroshige are optional one-time App Store purchases.
  • The professional Library adds smart collections, favorites, grid/list views, compound filters, richer metadata, consistent multi-selection, and visible recovery items.
  • Global, app, and editor shortcuts now share one remappable registry with live menu/help updates and internal plus macOS conflict checks. The icon-only recording bar gets clearer group spacing.
  • Recording stop, cancel, failure, timeout, and quit now share one idempotent cleanup path, releasing camera, microphone, screen, system audio, previews, and writers before reporting success.

Studio — a dark, three-pane editor

2026-07-18
  • Three-pane studio editor — a sections rail (Frame · Webcam · Overlays · Motion · Audio · Script, ⌘1–6) that collapses to bare icons, the canvas in the middle, and a dedicated selection inspector on the right.
  • Dark mode + ambient themes — dark by default with a System/Light/Dark switch, and the chrome re-tints to the active theme’s ambience (leaf green, Friday Night crimson, Christmas gold).
  • Every caption and annotation owns its own scrollable timeline track, the transport tucks the time readout under its buttons, and Delete/arrow keys act reliably on selections.

Broadcast — publish, on-brand

2026-07-11
  • Branding Kit adds intro/outro cards and a corner watermark; Audio Ducking keeps music under speech; AI Publish Kit drafts title, description, and chapters from transcript plus markers.
  • Cursor spotlight + click sounds ship in preview and export parity, global record shortcuts are remappable with conflict badges, and long takes now transcribe past Whisper's 25 MB cap via silence-split chunking and timeline stitch.

1.0.1 — polish over Showtime

2026-07-11
  • Bundled background presets land in one click (Leica, Pikachu, Cyberpunk, Dopamine, Ocean Blue), each with a graceful fallback if the wallpaper file is missing.
  • Region recording gains a live boundary selector, plus a keyboard shortcut cheat sheet (?) that stays in sync with the app's real shortcut catalog.
  • The export flow is unified: single exports and recipe-backed export sets now live in one workspace instead of split sheets.
  • These changes shipped as build 45 to harden the 1.0 workflow before Broadcast.

Christmas arrives

2026-07-07
  • A new Christmas theme joins Friday Night — an evergreen backdrop with drifting snow, a twinkling tree, and gingerbread and stocking decorations. The app's logo and Dock icon dress for the season while it's active.
  • The site now calls out reframing any recording to 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, or 4:5 — landscape, Reels/TikTok/Shorts, or square posts.
  • Plus polish: Christmas no longer offers Friday Night's music track, two Settings buttons had gone untranslated, and the editor's Cover buttons and the site's own nav are fixed.

Camera bubble polish

2026-07-03
  • The live webcam preview is now a rounded, shadowed M3-style bubble, and rounded PiP is the default style for new recordings.
  • Camera-on recordings stop reliably: webcam session setup and teardown now run through one serial queue.
  • Shortcut panels across the app and site now share the same grouped layout and separated keycaps, with localization filled in.

Zero-permission cursor capture

2026-07-03
  • Cursor overlays, click ripples, and auto-zoom now need no permission — clicks and moves are read from public CoreGraphics state, so they work out of the box in both editions.
  • Recordings and exports always land in the real ~/Movies folders, and Settings gains Change… so the recordings folder can live anywhere — the pick survives relaunch.

Decoration glow-up

2026-07-03
  • The disco ball is now a real mirror-tile mosaic — top-lit facets, a hanger loop, and glints that twinkle in place instead of spinning with the ball. The wine glass gains a liquid surface, glassy tint, shine streaks, and sways on its base.
  • The Recording Check fixes permission problems where it reports them — Grant… and Open Settings… on every row — and warnings you've recorded through stop interrupting.
  • The verismo CLI rides out app-relaunch socket races.

Osmo becomes Verismo

2026-07-03
  • New name across the app, the verismo CLI, and the docs — existing recordings open unchanged.
  • Brand logo restored in the control bar and Library; the display typography slimmed from heavy to semibold.

Lasers for everyone

2026-07-02
  • The rotating laser rig now radiates from the disco ball too, so both party flourishes are lit consistently.

Friday Night

2026-07-02
  • Disco ball and wine glass frame decorations, plus rotating laser lights for the spinning-vinyl webcam — the Friday Night theme seeds them all on.
  • Smart Trim keeps the music bed continuous instead of cutting it at every filler word.

Teleprompter tune-up

2026-07-02
  • Speaker notes lay out at full height, scroll properly, and open at their intended size. Builds are signed under the new Apple Developer team.

Speaker notes

2026-07-02
  • A floating teleprompter you read while recording — auto-scroll or drag — that never appears in the capture. Fully localized (English, 简体中文, 日本語).
